Youth Exchange “Light of democratic minds”
In may I took part in youth exchange in Spain. I arrived at night to “La Noria” (Málaga) and our leaders said us that we are in rooms with Spanish and Turkish people. It was a really big surprise! First day was really hard. We couldn’t even talk because I didn’t speak Spanish and Turkish and girls from my room (Ana and Elif) didn’t speak English and Polish. It was a challenge but in 1or 2 days we started to talk and having fun.
Before this exchange, I was afraid that people wouldn’t be nice. But it wasn’t true because Turkish and Spanish people were really amazing, friendly, helpful and full of good energy. Spending time with them was a pleasure.
Workshops were really good. We had them twice a day, before and after lunch. First two days we were playing and talking to know more about with each other.
Then we started to cooperate. We did a paper man and we had to work in groups. It showed us, how important is to know other languages and help other people.
We were living in La Noria – beautiful place with amazing personnel. People there were really helpful. Even when I couldn’t talk with them because I didn’t know Spanish, they tried to help me. The atmosphere was really good and the rooms and food too. Polish team loved it.
In general I’m delighted! I like everything in Malaga: sea, city, people… I want to come back there once more and I think that youth exchange is a really good idea for young people. It gives us possibilities to learn, meet people and have fun!
I don’t like only one thing, that the exchange took only one week. Now I’m missing everyone. I want to see them once more.
